Growing up in Venezuela, grilling with friends and family was a big part of the culture, and there was always a creamy avocado salsa on the table for everyone to enjoy. After moving to the U.S., I missed that flavor and feeling. I started experimenting with the ingredients I couldfind in my kitchen, and something new and delicious slowly came tolife.
I began bringing jars of salsa to gatherings, and people kept asking for more. One day, someone said, “You should sell this!” After that,I considered whether I could start a business with my salsa.
Starting a business, however, was not easy. After my divorce, I was focused on rebuilding my life, figuring out who I was and what I wanted for the future. That’s when the idea for Texuela Salsa took shape. Growing my company gave me purpose and something to pour my heart into.“Texuela” is a blend of “Texas” and “Venezuela,” reflecting both my roots and where I’ve come to call home.
The original version of the salsa had no heat—just smooth avocado and bold, fresh flavor. But people kept asking for spice, so we turned up the heat! Texuela Salsa now offers Original, Medium with a bit of habanero, Hot with more habanero, and Extra Hot with habanero and ghost pepper. That kick of spice? That’s the Texas twist.
Texuela Salsa is made with real avocado, in small batches, using clean ingredients. It’s plant-based, keto-friendly, gluten-free, and nut-free—crafted so everyone can enjoy our bold flavors without compromise.
